FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is it the official one?
Yes. The boards and the pieces in both sets are the ones from the series, all by Rechapados Ferrer, from La Garriga. Chess Is Art is the official Ferrer distributor. The pieces in the Mexico City set have a different name, but they're the same model you see in the series, just like the Deluxe ones.
What's the difference between the two Queen's Gambit sets?
The moment in the series and the woods. The Queen's Gambit is the board from episode 4 (Mexico City, 1966): walnut and sycamore, in 45, 50 or 55 mm squares. The Queen's Gambit Deluxe is the one from the Moscow final (episode 7, 1968): black-dyed poplar and ash burl, in 40, 45, 50 or 55 mm squares.
Can't decide? Think about which game you want to relive.
Which size should I choose?
The board's square decides. In the chess sets the pieces are already matched. If you buy them separately, the pieces go like this: size 4 with 40 mm squares, size 5 with 45 mm and size 6 with 50 or 55 mm.
Can I have it engraved?
Yes, with an engraved plate with a name and a date, for €25. You add it from the set or board page. It's the most requested option for gifts.
When will it arrive?
Spain and Portugal: 1-2 working days, free (in Spain, also to a pickup point). Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands: 4-5 days, free. Rest of the EU: from €10. I only ship within the EU.
What if I don't like it?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it, no questions asked. Anything you buy in November or December can be returned until 15 January. And it comes with a 10-year guarantee.
